Spring Flowers

It is such a gorgeous day today that I had to snap a few pics. Ransom is out of school for a teacher workday so we are taking advantage of the beautiful sunshine.

Yesterday afternoon we tried out the kites Ransom got for his birthday from Grandaddy. We first tried at home, but the trees were blocking the wind. So, we headed down to the hay field and found great success!

Conversations witha Kindergartener

It was lightning on our way home from church last night and Ran says:
" What is lightning?"
I say "Hmm, that is a daddy question"
Daddy says "it is the electrical charge ...blah blah blah"
Ran says "no its not"
Daddy says "That is back talk young man. Since you are so smart tell me what lightning is then."


Ran says "It is God's flashlight."

Hard to argue with that logic!

Earth Day

Ransom sold the cans we have all( mom, Mama Ag & daddy jim, and us) been collecting for him. He made a whopping $37!!!! Way to go!!!!

I went along on a field trip today with the kindergarten class. We had a great day at the zoo....and confirmed for me once again that I could NEVER be a kindergarten teacher. Please bless those teachers hearts. We did have fun and I sure could have skipped the morning at the gym....I could use a nap!

Landscaping

Day two...and I have music! Woo hoo!

We are having our yard landscaped...a before shot....I am so excited because it is going to look GREAT! We are doing it in phases because I want to do so much and my goodness...this stuff is not cheap! Phase one is the sidewalks, flower bed borders and drains. Hopefully this summer we can do the drip irrigaton and plants ,,,,and then after that the HOT TUB!!!! Somewehere in there we want to move the driveway and put in a circular drive out front....

OK..I have resisted...for a very long time....but I guess the time has come to make the jump into all things technological. I am a BLOGGER!!! There I have said it. I have been reading Vanessa's for a long time and sometimes even jump over to her friends blogs to see what is going on...only fair to share, right! Well, here goes!

Vanessa and I joined a cool gym last week and have since been going to class every weekday morning. Well....this morning that trainer whipped me!!!! That girl was a maniac! I know it will be sore muscles for this wimpy girl in the morning! She kept saying, "it is TOO close to bathing suit season to stop now!' Whew, I am starting to sweat again just thinking about it!

In other happenings, we are bottle feeding a baby calf. It got loose out of the pasture when it was only a few hours old. By the time we found it, it was in need of TLC so off to the barn it goes! The kids think it is soo cool and I really don't mind..yet...wait until it gets a little strength. I guess it is good thing I started working out, huh?
